Located close to the Hong Kong International Airport, the SkyCity Nine Eagles Golf Course, is an investment of 100 million HKD. This nine-hole golfing facility is designed to challenge the very best players. Set in a purposely designed environmentally, with beautiful landscaping, this ‘unique Hong Kong airport golf course’ offers players of all level an opportunity to improve their golfing skills. Engineered by a renowned Scottish golfing architect, the course has seven Par 3 holes and two Par 4 holes, set amidst rolling terrain, undulating greens and extensive bunkering. Designed to USGA Standards, this course is a true test for the best.
Hole 3 at Nine Eagles has an island green that will challenge even the most experienced of players. Inspired by the world famous hole 17 at the Tournament Players Club in Sawgrass, Florida, this is by no means a lesser feat. With extensive bunkering, Hole 7 is similar to Hole 13th at Harbour Town Golf Course in South Carolina. With expanded sand areas, this hole will get your attention. A controlled short-tee shot, over the vast sand area, to a raised green, is a must.
In a city which never sleeps, Nine Eagles offers golfers extra precious hours to fulfill their dreams. Fully equipped with night lighting, golfers are able to play at a time of the day when it is much cooler. Discovery Bay Golf Club
This golf club is closest to Hong Kong’s Disneyland. Discovery Bay feels like a luxurious
residential zone located on an island in South Europe. To get there, take the ferry from Hong Kong Island or take a bus from Tung Chung. Once there, you will find that only bicycles or golf carts are permitted on Discovery Bay, all vehicles are forbidden to enter unless they have prior permission, because the government wishes to develop Discovery Bay as a smoke-free town.
Taking ferry boat from Central will also work. The golf club picks up passengers by free shuttle bus service. This 27-hole golf club, it’s designed by Robert Trent Jones. Jr. These tournament courses are considered excellent and remain in remarkable condition. Although it’s a private membership golf club, visitors tee-time booking is available on
Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Courses
This is the only public golf club in Hong Kong with two championship courses plus a beginners 18 hole course. There are full faciliues here and the service is excellent which makes this golf destination so precious in a small place like Hong Kong.
These golf courses have been choosen as the “Best Asian Public Course” on many occasions. Of these courses, the Par-72, 6858-yard North Course was the earliest. Established in 1995, it was designed by Gary Player. The strong sea winds, narrow fairways and dense rough makes this course intimidating. However, being a walking course golfers will struggle with uphill climbs between holes 3 and 4, and holes 14 and 15.
Compared to the North Course, the Par 69, 5906-yard South Course, opened in 1996, is much easier to play. The South Course is popular with people who prefer golf carts. According to official statistics, for the past 12 years on both North and South courses, there have been more than 1 million golf rounds. For this reason, it was necessary to build another course, the East Course which opened in April, this year.
So great is the demand for the East Course that since its opening, the Automatic Telephone Tee-Time Booking System receives more than 16 thousand calls during the first half hour of each business day. One can only imagine how busy this Course gels, especially on public holidays. Golfers had best avoid the rush hours.

Nowadays, a visit to the Hong Kong Golf Club, affectionately named “Fanling” by
its members, means playing on the Old Course or on a composite course, the remnant holes from the New and Eden courses.
There is an eight to ten years wait-list to join the Fanling membership, one of the oldest in golf’s history, established in 1889, and it doesn’t get any better. To purchase a corporate debenture, in order to obtain immediate playing rights, at this Club is not as straight forward as it seems. Even an offer of 10 million HKD doesn’t guarantee a successful

purchase. Money doesn’t seem to matter, the final test is to get pass a membership committee that rejects what it considers to be unsuitable applicants. However, despite its private club status, the club still offers visitors the opportunity to play at Fanling for a fee, the green fee. As long as the visitors abide by the rules and regulations and reserve a tee-time booking, they can play at the club during the weekdays. The club is home to the HK Open, one of the oldest Opens in golf. But this year, between July and September, the club closes for the 2008 Olympic Equestrian Events.
The Hong Kong Golf Club has 3 courses, the Old, the New and the Eden courses. They are all British styles course that offer much charm. Many trees line the fairways and the bunkers are shallow and small, with a few ponds thrown in here and there. The Old Course had been rebuilt by renowned US golf architect, Schmidt & Curley. The 6200-yard fairways are short by modern standards, but the par-4 signature hole named “Tommy Tucker” is very challenging because it is a blind tee off over a lowish hill to find the fairway. Also the par-3 hole 16 of 200-yard is also highly appreciated by the golfers. This hole is short but birdie is not given for the golfers should be aware of the bunkers. Once on the green it’s time to navigate around a gently contoured green.
Fanling’s scenic environment, with its beautiful hills, flowing waterfalls, majestic cliffs, natural gingko woods and turf, provides a stunning landscape for this 18-hole course. The club clearly showcases the artistry in bunker sculpturing and landscaping. This golf course not only keeps to the original natural beauty of its surroundings, but also the design of the fairways delivers an astonishing, visual feast, making this course a sublime treat for all players.
The Hong Kong Golf Club is founded on pure enjoyment, the sense of belonging and the freedom of choice. This carries from the course into every element of your golf experience - from the moment you unload your bag through to ending your day in the exclusive Private Members Lounge.

Qingdao International Golf Club is another world class golf club in the city of Qingdao. The club is located at Shilaoren National Tour Resort, in Laoshan District. This 18-hole, par 72 golf course plays to 7010 yards and is conveniently located only 20 minutes drive from the airport.
This club is very famous for several holes are breathtakingly well designed. Such as, its’ signature par-5 hole 4, this dog-leg left hole is half surrounded by water hazards, and this hole is both beautiful and challenging. Long rough, firm and fast greens, the stream and the formidable presence of Mother
Nature, all contribute to make the score of par a difficult task. The fairway is not very long but the tee-shot’s direction is essential to avoid a bogey.
Hole 4, mentioned above, is indeed challenging but the 421-yard, par 4 hole 12 may present even more difficulties and is considered as the most challenging hole on this golf course. On hole 12, golfers may also enjoy the majestic sight-seeing views on its’ wide fairway. Water hazards guard every side of the green. Not only do players have to thread their drive through a series of hazards, they must combat the left to right southerly winds that sweeps this hole.
The par-3, hole 16 is another famous hole on this golf course. The hole is not very long but players need to cross the water hazard with their tee shot.
Well presence of Mother Nature could be seen at every hole of Qingdao International Golf Club.
Experience of Olympic Games And Golfing all at Qingdao

Walking your way back up the nearby sand dunes, to approach the enclosed tee ground, the golfer faces one of the most stunning views on this golf course. Looking around, it is quite easy to become transfixed by the surrounding scenery. But this hole also deserves much respect. Both sides of the green are protected by many bunkers. Trees and rocks are nearby. A long distance tee-shot onto the green is not difficult to achieve but putting on this green demands extreme caution.
Another feature of this club that deserves a mention is the clubhouse. Although the clubhouse looks like the Sydney Opera House, it was as a matter of fact built on Arabian architectural principles.
Besides, no matter what kind of courses the golfers would love to go, personal passport should be available all the time, both for the accommodation and golf club check it. Then make a phone call ahead for tee-time booking is a must. Finally, during the Olympics Games, golf clubs at Qingdao would not increase their green fee, which makes a golf trip at this city more worthwhile. G
hazards, a natural ecological habitat to many waterfowls. The Peninsular Clubhouse, located in the heart of city, at Huangdao Economic and Technological Development Zone, has a 9-hole Par 3 golf course for inner city players.
Pass the front gates of the East Clubhouse; you will be greeted by a panorama view of the golf courses, featuring unpredictable contoured fairways and a well precision man-made lake. The Masters Course and Classic Course, each 7,150 yards and 7,080 yards long respectively, are currently the classiest and best facilitated golf courses in Shandongprovince. Walk on these graceful fairways and you will be spiritually energized by the greenery. Then pamper your eyes with the unsurpassable visual beauty of the golf courses that rise before you in awe.
With Pre-Euro detailed architecture, Phase 1 to the brand new West Clubhouse of Qingdao Huashan Golf & Resort was completed in early 2007. Phase 1 to this massive development is a 4,500m2 country club with cafe, pro-shop, starter lounge and luxurious private banquet room. The phase 2 of the development, which is to be completed in mid of 2009, will be an 8,000m2 full facilities clubhouse. The golf courses are designed to provide every golfer with the sternest test in golf. The numerous water hazards adds to the degree of difficulty and will challenge the very best to keep the ball in play. The detailed landscaping provides players with the ultimate, the scenic view of the nature.
Located in the coast of Huangdao, the Peninsular Clubhouse is built in the Huangdao Economics and Technological Development Zone. This inner city facility permits players to enjoy the challenge that the game of golf presents without the need to make long distance journeys. The only Par 3 golf course in Qingdao will provide golfers with pleasure and challenge. The strong sea breeze, long tee-shots and deep bunkers, will be your sternest opponent. You may tee-off with the ball landing straight on the green, then it is straight forward two putts to make par. Miss the fairway or over shoot the green and you will find your ball heading towards the sea, with any
luck you will be glad to find a kind bunker. The fate of your game lies in your tee shot.
The members and guests of the Club form a diversified group. The clubhouse offers a sumptuous array of Western and Asian cuisines.
The Korean restaurant is especially praiseworthy as famous cooks and experienced restaurant managers were hired direct from Korea, at great expense, to ensure authentic Korean cuisines and to provide a pure Korean experience from service to dishes. The Huashan Club not only focuses on the quality of the food, but also goes to extraordinary lengths to develop new dishes, changing the dining environment according to the seasons, and even offering a particular menu featuring nutritional, healthy elements; these are all important reasons why the Qingdao Huashan Club enjoys an unparalleled services reputation.
Besides the hot springs, the 27-hole, 10,742-yard mountain course is high regarded both in China and abroad. Standing on teeing ground on Hole 1 or on Hole 10, it feels awesome to be surrounded by the majestic mountains. Teeing off here brings a wonderful sensation. This course is not very long but it doesn’t have to be because the strong winds will challenge you. Some fairways fall away by more than 30 meters. Strong sea winds, much undulating terrain, the many small bunkers and a few lakes here and there require you to be accurate all the time. On this course, making suitable strategies based on the mountain’s contours is a must to avoid high scores befalling your scorecard. The 340-yard Hole 9 is a Par 4 and another fine example of a very challenging hole. Facing the hillside with about 50-meter fall ahead, for this tee shot, the real distance is about 30% less than its’ linear distance, depending on wind conditions. Too much club and you will be hitting the cliff and too few, the ball is in the sea, then you will simply just have to re-load. Under such circumstance, golfers should feel very satisfied making pars, with birdies so hard to attain.
At Qingdao Tiantai Hot Spring Golf Club, even more valuable than the precious hardware facility, is the management’s concept that the “Customer is God”. Not just simple, superficial etiquette, the caddy service at this golf club provides a genuine and heartfelt touch. Caddies selection is strict. They are chosen by height, weight, intelligence, perseverance and cultural dynamics. To ensure the standardization of caddy service to go on smoothly, their future training includes professionalism, foreign languages; customs and golf etiquette. Players will receive service both in kindness and of utmost quality. Qingdao Huashan also welcomes the visitors during the Olympics Games period as they did before, which makes this golf club a great temptation.
Beijing Honghua International Golf Club is designed by Nick Faldo, the legendary golf player with 6 Majors championships. The design and the construction meet all the PGA requirements and standards. Faldo has designed 3 golf courses in Southern China and Honghua is his first course in Northern China, and his only signature course. Since the land in Beijing is very flat, Honghua transported more dian 2.5 million m3 of soil to build its’ shape. Players have the opportunity to enjoy this interesting and challenging undulating course. Besides, the typical Faldo-style greens, Honghua is distinguished by its’ classic square tee grounds and by the numerous bunkers of white quartz sand, which not only impresses all players, but also demonstrates the noble dignity of this club. The uniqueness of Honghua comes from its’ greens. All the greens have
three levels with large floating aprons. Pay special attention to the fairway on the 15th hole at Honghua, Faldo signed his name on the flag.
As a world class golf club in downtown Beijing, Honghua successfully hosted the 2006 Volvo China Open, a co-sanction event of the European Tour and the Asian Tour, and it was the only national golf event held in China back in 2006. During that time, top players from all over the world gathered in Beijing and played with the local talent.
Beijing CBD International Golf Club was developed by Beijing Oriental Homemain CBD Sport Center in 2002. The Club boasts a convenient location, i.e. to the east of the Eastern 4th Ring Road between the Jing-tong Highway and the Jingshen Highway, 15 minutes drive from the China World Trade Tower, the center of the Business District and 30 minutes drive from the International Airport. With a total area of 135 hectors, the Club consists of an 18-hole championship golf course, a clubhouse, a driving range and luxurious residential villas. The Club started in March 2002 and officially opened in April 2005.
Beijing CBD International Golf Club is designed by famous American golf architect, BritStenson. The golf course meets all the requirements and standards of a world championship course, with a TPC Sawgrass flavor. Brit Stenson is a world renowned golf course designer who is experienced in golf course designing and construction. He has designed several dozen PGA golf courses in US. However, the CBD International Golf Club is his only design in Asia. A TPC type golf course has large lakes, an island green, long-curved bunkers and long Par 4s. Players can see water from most fairways. What’ s more, every TPC type golf course has an island green, the signature hole. Beijing does lack of water, so Beijing CBD golf course takes full advantage of a 200 thousand square meter artificial lake, permitted by the Beijing government, which has now become a sanctuary for bird life and the result is the creation of a recognized environment protection zone. It is every golfer’s dream to play on a TPC type golf course. And now, just with only a few minutes’ drive, Beijing residents may enjoy this great golf course.
Beijing CBD International Golf Course uses the most advanced water system in the world. Through the central control system, the golf course maintenance staff can easily control each single sprinkler head according to weather conditions. Beijing CBD International’s Gold Course is an 18-hole golf course with more than 1400 sprinkler heads permitting full coverage water system a possibility and this is the fundamental to maintaining a world-class golf course. Only a few of China’s golf courses have reached such high standards.
Turf maintenance is the soul of a good golf course. From the grasses selected, Beijing CBD International golf club uses world championship type grasses; so that its greens can reach speeds of 12 feet. They also employ experienced grass professors from China and from abroad and have the best grass maintenance facilities. They aim to be the best golf course in China.
Beijing CBD International Golf Club is located in the most prosperous Central Business District, in east Beijing. Many businessmen live and work nearby. The high-class accommodations and office buildings that surround the Club has added to the prosperity of the east Beijing Central Business District.
Being a world class golf club, in downtown, Beijing CBD International Golf Club did successfully host the 2008 Volvo China Open, a joint-event of the European Tour and the Asia Tour where top players from all over the world gathered in Beijing to challenge the local talent.
028 CHINAGOLF 03Qinghe Bay Golf & Country Club
Designed by the remarkable golf architect, Les Watts from Austria and JMP from US, Qinghe Bay Golf & Country Club is the one closest to the Olympic Green, which will become a wonder land for golfing while enjoying the great Olympics events. This golf is newly set up and supposes to open at this autumn. But since the drawing Olympic Games, club authority decided to open ahead of the schedule and now its 36-hole champion golf course could be available at this July. As a result, golfers could enjoy the special golfing experience provided by this new club.
Qinghe Bay Golf & Country Club is a private membership club. Golfers could only play here under the circumstance that they are the club members or the members’ companions. What fascinates the golfers is that, there are many wild animals seen on the fairway, such as egrets, spotted deer and black swans. Playing golf with so many wild animals could be rare at Beijing. This new golf courses with completely different styles will take golfers back to nature with the general landscape layout of the entire course. There are no artificial structures or man-made boundaries. By the lakeside, you will see lush, growing grass and the enchanting flights of birds. Along the roads, shrubs reach to the sky and you will see many glorious flowers in bloom. With the scent of maturing apples, apricots and peaches, you will feel the untouched charm of spring and autumn. Also much money has been invested in constructing this clubhouse, truly a grand and magnificent design. The inner decor is perfected by unique craftsmanship. The strict membership entrance system demands that the service quality in the clubhouse be the best of the best. Members can enjoy exclusive, personalized service in an elegant, luxurious and tasteful atmosphere.
In order to play this course well, golfers will need to use every single club in their bags - a true test of skill. This course requires precise approach shots to large undulating greens in order to play to a par. Meticulously manicured landscapes and ground covers create an aesthetic quality that golfers are sure to remember. Large, traditional, sand flashed bunkers frame the well-contoured fairways throughout the course. Tees
are strategically located on each hole to assure the golfing experience will be both enjoyable, yet challenging for golfers of all levels.
Hole designs are the essence of a golf club. Qinghe Bay Golf Club sets us a very good example. Hole 6 at the LCW, the longest hole of par 5, 617-yard, “takes the golfers’ breath away.” This hole is a real long 3-shot par 5. Once you in the fairway you have to then decide where to lay up. Left is the best option to avoid the bunkers and water on the right. Beware as a large bunker protects the opening of the green and watch for the pin placement as it can play longer with a back pin placement.
During the Olympic Games period, the Beijing Government will implement traffic control around the Olympic Green. For this sake Qinghe Bay Golf Club will give the instruction for golfers about how to avoid the rush hours or busy roads. So giving a phone call before head to the club is a must.
1 Large and traditional sand flashed bunkers with lakes at Qinghe Bay frame inviting holes throughout the course.
2 This stone bridge of typical Chinese style earns great favor from the golfers.
3 Turf maintenance is another feature Qinghe Bay feels proud of.
Beijing Links Golf Club
Located in the vicinity of the Asian Games Village, Beijing Links is the golf course in the urban area of China’s capital city that boasts an excellent championship golf course, a luxurious clubhouse of 70,000 square feet and a 60-bay driving range.
This 7040 yards, 18 hole championship course was designed by 5 times British Open Champion, Peter Thomson from Australia, 9 holes of which are floodlit for night play. It provides for an exceptional experience; a challenge and fun is guaranteed. This is a private membership course, and strictly only members and their guests can play here. Of course, the membership is transferable and numbers of members are strictly controlled to maintain the value of the membership. The clubhouse fascinates all who visit. This luxurious clubhouse is a perfect place for your golf and social outings. The facilities include hotel rooms, cigar rooms, locker rooms, sauna,
fitness center, chess & card room, billiard room, proshop, swimming pool, conference hall, video room, and even a golf bag storage room.
Not only does the clubhouse impress golfers deeply, also on the golf course many holes are definitely worth mentioning. Take, Hole 7 for example. This par 4, 390-yard hole is of medium length. It is very reachable in two if a strong drive is struck over the fairway bunker in front. If successful done, the ball will reach an elevation change, on the fairway, which will feed the ball forward another 10-20 meters. If the golfer achieves this then they will have a good angle to the green where they have the luxury of being able to hit their second, much shorter shot, on to the green.
The signature hole 18 of par 5 is also full of fun, challenge and picturesque view . When playing this 480-yard hole, an accurate, strong tee shot is needed. Although, the second shot looks quite
026 CfflNAGOLF 031 The Hole 18 at Beijing Links Coif Club not only provides challenge to golfers, also memorable views before ending
up your final putt right here.
2 The championship course surely will impress members via its Peter Thompson lay-out.
3 The clubhouse located at Beijing Links Golf Club is a perfect place for golfing and social outing.
intimidating, it can play much easier than it appears if, the golfer takes advantage of the contours with his approach to the green the ball feed towards the center of the green. When the pin is on the left half of the green, a ball flown to the center of this green should pick up the elevation change, in the middle of the green, and feed the ball left of the pin. Trying to fly the ball to the left half of the green is not simple to achieve.
Hole 3 and Hole 11 are also greatly favored by club members, because they may showcase their skills, both putting shots and from the tee shots. When members visit this champion course, they will surely be impressed by the Peter Thompson lay-out.
